Gold Stocks Climb, HUI Gains 0.9%

Gold stocks climbed Thursday morning as the AMEX Gold Bugs Index (HUI) jumped 0.9%, to 591.13. The strength in gold stocks was fueled by another record-setting day for gold bullion, which reached a new all-time high of $1,536.30 per ounce. The S&P/TSX Global Gold Index, Canada’s leading composite of gold stocks, rose 0.5% to 405.87.
