SILVER PRICE NEWS – The silver price climbed to yet another new 31-year high on Wednesday, reaching $36.885 per ounce in late morning trading. Today’s silver price advance came amid a rally in precious metals and the broader commodities complex, as well as in spite of a stronger U.S. dollar.
The silver price’s prior 31-year high was $36.745, which it hit on March 7. With today’s jump, the silver price is now higher by 9.1% in March and 19.2% year-to-date.
Shares of most silver companies powered higher alongside the silver price, with the Global X Silver Miners ETF (SIL) spiking 2.2% to $27.42 per share. Notable advancers in the sector included Pan American Silver (PAAS) and Silver Wheaton (SLW), with gains of 2.7% and 3.3%, respectively.
