Gold, Oil Pop as Saudi Police Fire at Protesters

Gold and oil pared their losses as multiple news outlets reported that police in Saudi Arabia have fired on protesters in the eastern part of the oil-rich nation.
Gold bounced from an intra-day low of $1,403 to $1,415 per ounce, while oil jumped from $101.50 to as high as $104 per barrel.
Equities added to their losses, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) tumbling 216.75 points, or 1.8%, to 11,996.34
