COMEX Gold Futures Inch Higher

COMEX gold futures, per the February contract, settled higher by $2.70, or 0.2%, at $1,388.80 per ounce. The modest advance in gold futures came despite a 0.2% rise to 80.78 in the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY).
Silver futures for March delivery dipped $0.03, or 0.1%, to $29.33 per ounce, while copper futures, per the March contract, climbed to a new all-time high of $4.2895 per pound.
